    Working journalist, recovering DJ and author of Gil Scott-Heron bio, “Pieces of a Man, Marcus Baram is a longtime reporter and editor. He has written for The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Village Voice, New York magazine, and the New York Daily News. He edits and writes stories on the economy, climate change, and income inequality for Capital & Main and as a a contributing editor at Crain Currency.


    Previously, he was a senior editor at Fast Company magazine, where he edited several award-winning feature stories, and worked as an editor at HuffPost and The New York Observer. His critically-acclaimed 2014 biography of the late Gil Scott-Heron, "Pieces of a Man," was named a notable book by The New Yorker. His specialties are investigative reporting, managing a team of reporters, building Web traffic and effectively promoting stories through social media.
