Uncommon Nasa
Uncommon Nasa came up within the indie hip-hop scene in NYC in the late 90's. By the 2000's he was the Head Engineer at Definitive Jux, and in 2004 founded his own record label, Uncommon Records. He's released 6 solo albums and 2 solo EPs over the years including "New York Telephone" and "Written At Night", along with several collaborative projects and full length productions for other artists. Throughout all those years as a creator within Hip-Hop he's also been a fan of Jamaican music, first being introduced to dancehall as a kid in the 90's listening to Red Alert and Bobby Konders on the radio. Over the years his taste in reggae has continued to expand across eras, regions and sounds. He's built up a huge collection of 45's and full length compilations that give him options for every set he puts together. Most of the time you'll hear him spinning 80's digital and early dancehall jams. But you may just catch him spinning some rocksteady, roots, 90's dancehall or current eurodub-digi chunes.
